Configuring Existing Apple Mail account to access Softcom Mail Powered by Google:

* Launch Apple Mail

* Click the "Mail" menu, then click on "Preferences..."

* Click the "Accounts" button

* Find your existing Softcom Email account on the left hand side of the accounts menu, and then click "Account Information" tab

* Make the following changes:

Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com

User Name: your full Email address (ie: johndoe@softcom.net instead of johndoe)

Password: should be your Softcom password for that Email account

* Click the "Advanced" tab. Make the following changes:

Change Port to 995

Check the Use SSL box

Make sure Password is selected in the Authentication list

* Return to the Account Information tab

* In the "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):" selection box, open it up to "Edit Server List" to bring up another menu.

* Click the "+" button to add another account.

* In the "Account Information" tab, enter the following:

Description: Softcom Gmail

Server Name: smtp.gmail.com

* Click on the "Advanced" tab

* In "Advanced", make the following changes:

Make sure that "Use default ports" is selected

Make sure the check box is selected next to "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)"

In the "Authentication" list, Make sure that "Password" is selected

User Name: your full Email address (ie: johndoe@softcom.net instead of johndoe)

Password: should be your Softcom password for that Email account

Click "OK"

Close the Accounts window.
