Close Combat Tips:
Here is where all of those war documentaries
you've watched come in handy. Close
Combat is designed to test your knowledge
of military strategy. One of the most
important things to remember to do is
to give cover to your advancing troops. Cover can
be given by either laying down smoke,
or sending a barrage of fire into an enemy
position, covering the path of the advancing
troops. Stay away from wide open areas, but
at the same time you must keep your
troops mobile by not letting them get pinned down.
When defending, don't leave any troops
too far in the rear, they'll be wasted there if you
can't move them forward (especially
Artillery). Keep all open areas and possible enemy
approaches well covered. It's a good
idea to keep your Anti-Tank gunners near the middle
of the map so that they can cover more
area. It's also a good idea to keep your troops
inside buildings whenever possible,
there is less chance of them being overrun.
