1/2

If your looking for a strategy game that involves some real strategy and not just quick mouse skills then War Wind is for you. It is a lot like Warcraft 2 but a with a lot more debt. You first choose from 4 races each with strengths and weaknesses. The Tha'Roon have strong units, a lot of money and good villages but they take much longer to build things and consume lots of resources. The Obblinox have the strongest and best equiped units but have almost no magical skills. The Eaggra have weak units, but build the quickest and are very high in numbers. The Sharma' Li have the weakest units but are the best in magic. Each race also has there own goals. The Tha'Roon want to stop the rebelling Eaggra and Obblinox. The Eaggra, who were slave workers, and Obblinox, who were Tha'Roon soilders both want freedom. Finally the Sharma' Li want to unite all the races and create a peace. To move the story along, there are beautiful cut scenes before and after each mission. The best part is that you can save the movies and watch them all in a row after finishing a campaign.

Each race has 7 scenerios in one campaign. The missions range from destroying enemie bases to using spys and assains. As you progress the scenerios become very hard. You must constantly hire workers and train them into soilders. From there you can make bio upgrades to advance them in speed, strenght, etc. Most of the missions will require a great amount of planning and strategy to win. There are many buildings to choose from and each searves a purpose. You must have a town hall to hire workers. There must be a training facility to turn the workers into warriors. You also must have a tech facility to make bio upgrades and countless other things. Another nice feature is the abbility to carry up to eight units from mission to mission. The battles are huge and sometimes have four races fighting at once. After you finish each of the campaigns you can make your own scenerios much like Warcraft 2. You can also play with up to 8 other players.

The only thing I have to complain about is that the graphics are nothing compared to Warcraft 2's and the sound effects and music become annoying very fast. Besides that, War Wind is a fun game and provides hours of challenging gameplay. 4 1/2 out of 5 demons.
