NOTE: One of two great matches of 1997 (The other is the hell in the cell -- Undertaker vs. HBK). Shamrock belly-to-belly suplexes Bret Hart. Shamrock is stunned at the very end by Austin.

NOTE: After the Bulldog through dog food and Shamrock snaps, Shamrock puts a behind the back choke hold on Davey. After he lets go he belly-to-belly suplexes referees and get some applause. That was great.

Rocky pins Hawk.
Pearl River Plunge on Faarooq and he is pinned. Faarooq holds Ahmed's foot while Rocky covers and pins the Pearl. Hawk pins Kama. Billy Gunn and the Road Dog are ringside. They blind Animal by throwing powder in his face. He is counted out. Shamrock makes D-Brown submit. Rocky attacks Shamrock with a chair. He only gets a two count. Rocky submits to the ankle lock. Shamrock is the lone survivor. |
NOTE: Shamrock is my favorite wrestler. He is starting to get more exposure and popularity. He brings to the ring many moves of quickness and strength. Rocky is a great heel. The fans love to hate him. When Rocky hit Shamrock in the groin, the crowd chanted "Rocky is Gay." He is also a talented wrestler. I miss Kama's past personality of Papa Shango (I might have misspelled this). LOD has wrestled since Draco. I digress, this was a good wrestling bout.

Ken Shamrock "The World's Most Dangerous Man"
vs. Shawn Michaels WORLD CHAMPION
Shamrock won by disqualification when Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna interfered.
Shawn Michaels retains World Belt.
NOTE: After the match, Owen Hart ran into the ring in streetclothes and attacked Shawn Michaels. Shamrock had another awesome match with Michaels. Shamrock may not get the respect he deserves from the fans, but his wrestling skills are stupendous. Shawn Michaels is a great wrestler himself.

| ROYAL RUMBLE: Shamrock comes in ninth and leaves out fourteenth after being thrown out by Rocky Maivia. Shamrock did not throw anyone out. |
NOTE: Rock hit Shamrock with brass knuckles, then put the knuckles in Shamrock's Shorts. He did not get the pin and later Shamrock made him tap out with the ankle-lock submission. While Shamrock was celebrating, Rock pointed out the knucks in Shamrock's shorts and had the referee reverse the decision.

Ken Shamrock, DOA (Skull, 8-Ball, Chainz), & Ahmed Johnson
vs.
NOD (Faarooq, D-Lo Brown, Rocky Maivia, Kama, & Mark Henry)
Shamrock forced Rocky Maivia to submit to the anklelock.
Faarooq and Maivia had another stand-off, but eventually reconciled.
NOTE: Shamrock was pinned by Maivia in a previous RAW after being hit in the face by a steel chair. He got his payback. I think he will be the next Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania. A good match by all participants.

Shamrock lost by DQ. Referee reversed the decision. |
NOTE: Good match. A bit short. Shamrock took a face hit with a chair. He later snapped to make Rocky tap out. Did not let go and was DQ'd. He snapped again and took out a ref and Rocky who was wheeled out on a stretcher and bleeding from the mouth. Seeing Shamrock snap is great. Rocky is my favorite heel (not counting Shamrock now).

NOTE: Good match. Shamrock saw limited action because of a torn ankle. This match would be the apex of Faarooq's WWF tenure. His popularity would wane afterwards. Blackman has shown that he has great potential in the ring.

NOTE: Shamrock's match was pretty good against Jeff. The final hurracurrana looked like it hurt. The Shamrock vs Rocky fight was awesome. It would have been the match of the year, except that Mick Foley's spectacular stunts stole the show. Triple H did commentary on the final.

Shamrock was unconcious from being hit with a dumbell (A curling weight, not Owen). A groggy Dan Severn makes the decision. A great short match. I really wish this match was longer. This match took place in the Hart Dungeon -- the training center of the Harts.

NOTE: Now this was a great match. It was longer than the previous encounter and included much more wrestling. Of course, wrestling against a great wrestler like Owen helps make this a memorable event. One of my favorite matches of the year.

Shamrock was unconcious from being hit with a chair from Mankind. The Rock pins Shamrock while Mick Foley is climbing over the cage. Overall, a good match by all participants.

Shamrock puts Mankind in an ankle-lock submission and Mankind then puts the mandible claw on himself to knock him out. Shamrock gets the win. Mankind later applies Mr Socko to Shamrocks gullet. An interesting match between the two.

1st Round: IC Champion Shamrock beat Goldust by ankle-lock. 2nd Round: IC Champion Shamrock lost to Rock by pin. |
NOTE: Bossman threw his nightstick into the ring to help Shamrock, but The Rock catches it and creames Shamrock. The match versus Goldust was not that good, but the Rock match was good as always. The Rock and Shamrock are a good wrestling combination. They always put on an entertaining match.

NOTE: A good match. I was expecting a little more, but still a good match. I was surprised that Shamrock won. I thought Billy was going to win the IC. The Royal Rumble was a bit weak.

I have not seen this match. I am no fan of Val "BLOWS" Venis. Anyway, Shamrock slaps sister and Billy Gunn. Gunn hits Shamrock and throws him back in the ring. Val rolls up Shamrock and Bill makes quick three count.

This was not a good match. Shamrock left early and I am not a fan of Goldust.

I have not seen this match. This is the infamous PPV where Owen Hart tragically falls to his death.

NOTE: I am behind in my PPv's. I finally watched this match though. The match was stoped because of Shamrock bleeding from the mouth. He then beats up Teddy Long (ref) for the decision. This match was a little too short for my taste. Actually, the whole PPV was a bit too short with matches cut off way too early. Billy Gunn would eventually become the new King of the Ring.
