820th Bomb Squadron

Message from the President

Our Reunion 2002 will be in Myrtle Beach, SC.  So be sure to mark your calendar that it is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 to Sunday May 5, 2002.

It will be held at the Sand Dunes Resort Hotel, that is on the north shore of Myrtle Beach.  All rooms have an ocean front view with a deck to walk out on to take in the salty sea breeze and breathe in the fresh sea air.  You can step out on to the sandy beach and enjoy a walk in the surf while soaking in the Spring sunshine.  The Hotel lobby decorations display art work covering hot air balloons times and the early days of aviation - Kitty Hawk.  The hotel offers an excellent array of oceanfront restaurants, cafes and lounges on the premises.  There are Indoor and outdoor swimming pools.  Kids under 18 stay FREE and Kids under 12 eat FREE.  HEALTH CLUB is fully equipped and the access is FREE.

The Myrtle Beach area is a year-round vacation paradise on the northern shores of South Carolina’s spectacular coastline.  Myrtle Beach area is known as the Grand Strand.  Its sandy beaches stretches 60 miles from Little River to Georgetown.

There is a wide selection of attractions and activities for every age group - veteran, spouse, children, grandchildren and friends.  It is a group friendly destination.  Historic, cultural, and eco-tour adventures are set among graceful plantations homes, picturesque gardens, and meandering rivers shaded by stately live oaks.  A visit here can include golf at any of the 100 championship golf courses, spectacular shows at palatial live-entertainment theaters, thrilling amusement parks, super shopping, and divine dining.

So take advantage of extending your stay for golf, shows, shopping, etc.   Rooms can be reserved at the reunion rate for 3 days before and 3 days after the reunion schedule.

We are busy planning the reunion program.  Suggestions are welcome.  Skip Thrune will put together our golfing group.   If you are interested but not sure at this time, send me a note so Skip can get a idea on the number of people to plan for.  This will not be taken as a commitment.  We look forward to hearing from you.
