Neal Ridge, D.O.

I grew up in Sacramento, CA and attended UC San Diego as an undergraduate, obtaining a BA in Biochemistry & Cellular Biology in 1985.  I worked in biotechnology, genetic engineering for six years before deciding to apply to medical school.  I attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (now Western University of Health Sciences), graduating in 1995.

I went through medical school on a Navy scholarship, and having completed a transitional internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, have spent the last four years serving in the U.S. Navy and United States Marine Corps to fulfill my service obligation.  It was fantastic.  I had a blast.  Now I'm back in training here at San Joaquin General Hospital in the Family Practice residency program.  There is no place to train like the county.

I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds.  I'm a firm believer in balancing out the stresses and frustrations of training by spending time with family and friends, an occasional workout, and above all else, maintaining a sense of humor.
