Application Procedures Selection for available intern and residency positions is made by the Department of Surgery. Straight Surgical Internship Application (PGY-I) Instruction for participation in the National Resident Matching Plan is found in the Directory of Approved Internships and Residencies. Completed application (NRMP preferred) and supporting documents should be sent in early fall. To support the application, a Dean's letter, medical school transcript and three letters of reference are required. Applicants will be notified of the Matching Program results in early spring of the year preceding postgraduate training, to begin late June. Residency Applications Applications
for our General Surgery Residency Program are done through the ERAS
Program (via the Internet) It is usually to the candidate's advantage
to make an early application, thus ensuring that all materials in support
of the application are made available to the Selection Committee.
To support the application, the Dean's Letter, a medical school transcript,
USLME transcript, Curriculum Vitae, personal statement, and three letters
of recommendation are required. Also required is a personal interview
and we will try to scheduled this interview with the applicant's convenience
in mind.
