Georgetown
There are beautiful forests surrounding the Georgetown area, and Coloma is not far away with the American River and Sutter's Mill where gold was first discovered in California, leading to the gold rush. The museum, park, and historical buildings are worth seeing. Placerville, once called "Hangtown" for obvious reasons, is a about 20 miles from Georgetown or a bit farther if one detours via roads that are a straighter and less nerve-wracking than those which evolved from the old mountain paths.

We highly recommend The Yoga Place in Georgetown. The ambiance, the beauty, and the surroundings of this location are superb. It is located within easy walking distance of the Festival and within a slightly longer walking distance to the main part of Georgetown, with its restaurants, cafes, antique shops, etc. There is a small lake (large pond) for swimming if one is brave enough to do so in April. There are two private rooms available and the room where classes usually stay. Some of the meals are provided by the host. For NCFC and INAFA members the prices have been reduced.
