The Shadow Party
The Shadow Party is the institutional manifestation of George Soros' anti-American obsession.
It is the political spear with which he intends to puncture the bubble of America's
influence and success.
Short Biography
George Soros was born as Gyorgy Schwartz in Budapest, Hungary, August 12, 1930. Both of his parents were Jewish. His father, Tivadar, was a lawyer who married into a prosperous merchant family. This gave him time to promote an artificial language called "Esperanto" which was supposed to become a universal language. In 1936, Tivadar changed his family name to "Soros", an Esperanto name which meant "will soar".
In 1944, the Nazis occupied Hungary and many of the jews went into hiding, including Tivadar and his family. George Soros remembered that, during this period, Hungary's Jew's betrayed other Jews for special privileges by means of a Jewish Council set up by the Nazis called the Judenrat. The Judenrat recruited Gyorgy and other Jewish youngsters to hand out leaflets in an attempt to persuade Jews to turn themselves in for deportation to death camps.
At one point, Tivadar saw one of the leaflets that Gyorgy was handing out, ordering the recipient to report to a certain synagogue. Tivadar asked Gyorgy if he understood the significance of the order, and Gyorgy (at age 13) said he guessed that they would be interned. Gyorgy was told to continue to run errands for the Judenrat but to warn the recipients of the leaflets of the danger of obeying the order. Later, Gyorgy was told by Tivadar to stop running those errands and Gyorgy complied - although he later revealed that he had enjoyed this role - and that he disliked his fellow Jews. It appears that he condemned the collaborators of the Judenrat for their betrayals while exempting himself from moral judgement.
"Tivadar saved his family by splitting them up, providing them with forged papers and false identities as Christians, and bribing Gentiles to take them in." Gyorgy took the name Sandor Kiss, posing as the godson of Baumbach, an official of Hungary's fascist regime whose job was to deliver deportation notices to Jews and to confiscate Jewish property. Baumbach brought Gyorgy along as he performed his job. Soros explained all this on a PBS television show Adam Smith's Money World on April 15, 1993. When asked later if Soros felt any guilt at having aided his "godfather" during this time (by Steve Kroft on 60 minutes), Soros answered: "Not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don't see the connection. But it was - it created no problem at all."
Soros learned of Communism from the Communist occupation of Hungary. He insists that Communism repelled him, but the power of Communism fascinated him. "In 1947, Stalin installed the Communist dictator Matyas Rakosi in Hungary." Rakosi was a Hungarian Jew whose birth name was Matthias Rosenberg. "He plunged... Hungary into a bloodbath of purges, show trials, mass deportations, and executions." "Soros left Hungary for England in August 1947, after seven months of Rakosi's terror."
In England, Soros gained admission to the London School of Economics where he studied with a man named "Popper". Popper was a Jew who had fled Austria to escape the Nazis. He developed a theory which involved "closed" as opposed to "open" thinking. "Closed" thinking was failure to respect other people's beliefs. Popper gave his views in a his book, The Open Society and Its Enemies, published in 1945. Soros took this theory as a mandate to attack any society which showed any form of closed thinking. Even though Popper was delighted with America when he arrived - because it had essentially and open society - when Soros arrived in America he saw only New York and lived essentially in New York. Soros considered American to be have a closed society - which was to be attacked.
After graduating in 1952, Soros joined a London brokerage firm where he mastered the art of international arbitrage. In 1956, he moved to New York to become a stock trader, eventually landing a job as a portfolio manager at an investment bank catering to old money, with roots going back to 1803 Berlin. In New York, Soros' career "blossomed".
While working with the investment bank, Soros wrote the bulk of his treatise The Burden of Consciousness. In 1959, Soros moved to Greenwich Village, arriving at a time when the beatniks "were giving way to the emerging Sixties counterculture, of which Greenwich Village was an early epicenter." By 1961, Soros had married and moved to a new location in the village on Sheridan Square. In 1963, a son was born to the couple.
As Soros continued to work on his manuscript, a man named Harrington was writing a book that was published in 1962 under the title The Other America, which argued that post-war prosperity had failed to eliminate poverty in America, that an "invisible" underclass of about 50 million people suffered desperate want, and that something must be done. President Johnson read and admired Harrington's book which supposedly inspired Johnson's "War on Poverty" - which was "a well-intended but ultimately disastrous program whose perverse effects helped to give birth to Soros' own Shadow Party."
A "New Left" radical poet, Allen Ginsberg, who was on the FBI's most wanted list as a "Dangerous Subversive" in 1965, became one of Soros' "life-long" friends by the mid 1980s. Another of Soros life-long friends was financier Byron Wien. Ginsberg was a foremost promoter of "marijuana, LSD, and other sources of chemical 'enlightenment'. Soros claims it was Ginsberg who persuaded him to champion drug legalization. Gisberg was also a fierce advocate of the Palestinian cause."
Soros' wife had a daughter in 1965 and the couple moved to a more spacious quarters in Central Park West. In 1969, Soros and his partner, Jim Rogers, started what would later become the Quantum Fund, the "cash cow" of Soros global empire.
Soros' "eerily prescient investments" made him something of a prophet on Wall Street. Between 1979 and 1981, the Quantum Fund quadrupled in value from $100 million to $400 million.
In 1980, Soros was a successful New York fund manager. He wanted to make a difference in the world, but was without a purpose. He stated in is 1991 book, Underwriting Democracy, "As I looked around me for a worthy cause, I ran into difficulties. I did not belong to any special community... I never quite became an American. I had left Hungary behind and my Jewishness did not express itself in a sense of tribal loyalty that would have led me to support Israel." Soros made statements since that show that he considers the tribal loyalty of Judaism to be wrong - and he later said in regard to Israel, "I suspect that Hamas will have to be brought into the peace process before it can be fully successful."
"At times, Soros has characterized the founding of Israel as a pathological reaction by certain Jews obsessed with emulating their Nazi oppressors..."
In 1992, Soros was wealthy enough and influential enough to economically challenge nations. He wagered $10 billion on a drop in the value of the British pound. Soros bought Deutschmarks and dumped pounds. In a desperate attempt to keep its currency afloat, the Bank of England began to buy pounds. As more and more investors followed Soros lead (dumping their pounds in a panic as their value dropped), the bank was unable to buy them as quickly as the investors could dump them. The Bank of England gave up and the value of the pound was devalued, "launching a tsunami of financial turmoil from Tokyo to Rome. When it was over, millions of hardworking Britons confronted their diminished savings while Soros counted his gains. He had personally made nearly $2 billion on the catastrophe..."
Soros repeated his above performance, with some variations and varying results, with Russia, the United States, Germany, France, and other nations. In each case, Soros increased his wealth greatly at the expense of others. A French court convicted Soros of insider trading in connection with a takeover attempt on the Societe Generale Bank. The charges carried a possible two-year prison sentence, though the Paris Court of Appeals let him off with a $2.9 million dollar fine - Soros lost a second appeal.
"In June of 1994, Financial World magazine hailed Soros as the top earner on Wall Street.. his 1993 profits exceeded the gross domestic product of at least 42 member nations of the UN."
Soros set up shop in the dying Soviet Union as a self-styled crusader for Open Society. But where he could have been a saviour for for the people, he chose instead to assimilate to the corrupt system already emerging and milk profits from a vulnerable people.
To make a long story less long, Soros began a pattern of setting up organizations in various nations called Open Society Foundations which have facilitated coups and rebellions in many countries, always ostensibly in the interests of "democratization". The "subversive mission of his Open Society network has required him to wear a variety of masks... In some countries, he would adopt a pro-communist pose while in others he would play the anti-communist.
"Soros' anti-American agenda begins with his critique of America's birth certificate. He argues that The Declaration of Independence is also open to different interpretations. The principles of the Declaration are not self-evident truths but arrangements necessitated by our inherently imperfect understanding. Because these founding principles have no special sanctity and represent no timeless truths, Soros views them as disposable. They can be changed at will, to fit the radical fashion of the day. And, indeed, the rewriting of the U.S. Constitution happens to be one of Soros' pet projects.
"On 8-10 April 2005, Yale Law School hosted a conference called, The Constitution in 2020, promoted as an effort to produce a progressive vision of what the Constitution ought to be. Its website listed Soros Open Society Institute as a sponsor. In fact, of the five organizations hosting the event, three were recipients of Soros' funding.
Five Sponsors
The American Constitution Society
The Yale Law School
The Arthur Liman Public Interest Program at Yale
The Open Society Institute
The Center for American Progress
The American Constitution Society and the Center for American Progress are both Shadow Party fronts. One of the founders of the latter was Morton Halperin, director of U.S. advocacy for Soros' Open Society Institute and executive director of the Open Society Center. Soros helped launch both groups and both have received funding from the Open Society Institute.
Hillary Clinton played a quiet but significant role in founding the American Constitution Society and she is still on the board of advisors.
Soros made sure that his progressive Constitutional Convention would be widely promoted on college campuses, using another of his Shadow Party divisions called Campus Progress.
Halperin, was at the time the book was written, the political director of ABC News. During the final weeks of the 2004 Presidential campaign, he issued a memo to his reporters instructing themt to slant the news in favor of the Democrats. The book goes on to list many other posts that Halperin has served as a member of the Shadow Party.
Soros was not just one of the sponsors involved in the convention. In truth, it might have been called the Shadow Constitutional Convention. Attendees reported that conference leaders pushed for a Second Bill of Rights based upon Franklin D. Roosevelt's Four Freedoms (freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want, and freedom from fear). Before Soros can transform U.S. society into a socialist utopia, our Constitution will have to undergo many "evolutionary" changes.
Soros has backed open borders for the United States as part of his plan to ruin America. He has been reponsible for numerous demonstrations designed to make America an "Open Society" and that includes open borders. Some have mentioned that Soros is schizoid in that he rationalizes his destructive actions by telling himself that what he is doing is good.
Some of the groups sponsored by Soros' Open Society Institute
Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN)
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC)
Center for Community Change (CCC)
League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)
Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA Coalition)
Mexican-American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF)
National Council of La Raza
The Gamaliel Foundation

The Communists used in 1917 the techniques which they have since repeated over and over again throughout the world. Lenin had stated as early as 1902 (in What Is to be Done?) that the Communists could never hope to persuade successfully the majority of the people, or even of the working class, to embrace the program and leadership of the Communist Party. What the Communists therefore needed, Lenin pointed out, was to combine legal with illegal work, infiltrate the police and armed forces, the government, schools, churches, trade unions, and other organizations which possessed strategic importance in the conquest and consolidation of power. Above all, Lenin urged the Communists in What Is to be Done? to train a "cadre of professional revolutionaries", who would give full time attention to political activities, and who would develop the techniques and procedures required for the revolutionary conquest of power. Although the Communists had thus clearly stated, from the Communist Manifesto on, that they intended to seize power by revolution and violence, the democratic government of Russia in 1917 treated the Communist Party and just another political party. Essentially, this is what is happening or has already happened in the United States and Soros is largely responsible as the power behind it all. However, with Alinsky as the architect, violence is reduced considerably and other means are favored. Alinsky updated Lenin's original methods with those more suited to operations within the United States today.
Soros has never defined his Open Society as he claims it would make the society too rigid. His proscription against imposing "open society" on others, coupled with his refusal to describe the future he seeks suggests that the "critical" aspect - the destructive aspect - of his mission is what motivates and defines it, and the positive, idealistic aspect is a blank slate for his progressive vanguard to one day define. In other words, it is merely a smokescreen for whatever agendas the revolutionaries may wish to pursue... With unexpected candor, Soros admits that he finds destruction easier than creation. Regarding his "democratization" efforts in the former Soviet bloc, he told the New York Times in 1990, [W] our aim was to break open a closed system, we supported the iconoclasts. Now the task is to build an open system. It is much harder to do this... In a way it is much more boring. Building is always more effort than destroying.
According to Saul Alinsky, people always decide emotionally what they want and then rationalize as necessary to make things right with themselves. This may not be true of everyone, but it is certainly true of Soros. Soros once said "My goal is to become the conscience of the world." He has also described himself as a failed philosopher, saying "Every philosophical argument is liable to raise endless new questions... Once I spent three years of my life trying to work out my philosophy, and I ended up where I began." Soros was speaking a time when he was working on his treatise, The Burden of Consciousness, in which he expounded upon the nature of "open" and "closed" societies - but he never finished the book and his failure to rationalize adequately made him decide not to study philosophy in England. He decided to get back into business. Yet Soros states "But I haven't given up the illusion that I have something important and original to say."
The material on Soros in the book The Shadow Party is far too extensive to show here. One should read the book. However, it is clear that Soros has an addiction to power that is as great as that of the strongest drugs or alcohol. His few supposed attempts to balance the evils that he has caused have usually resulted in his giving in again to the power he loves to exert. His excuse is that he cannot think of morality while engaging in his attempts to gain more power lest such morality undermine his efforts. He enjoys the company of those who have the same failing.
Soros is admired by those who believe that the goal in the game of life is to acquire the most power - usually at the expense of others.
