Boxwood Apple - 2005

I recently acquired a small piece of Boxwood and wanted to give it a try.  This apple started life as a 1-inch cube of wood.

Boxwood is extremely hard, yet it can be carved with both hand and power tools.  I used power tools, and found that fluted carbide burrs work well.  Because it is so hard, it takes a nice polish.
