While trying to find ideas for carving projects, I was battering a blob of modeling clay when this idea emerged.  Aside from a rough (and pretty bad) sketch, I didn't really make a pattern -- I just carved from the clay model.  As I always do, however, I made sure I had plenty of reference photographs!

This little guy is carved from Boxwood and painted with acrylics.  The eyes are carved, painted, then coated with 5-minute epoxy which gives them that shine.
