Butternut Spiral - 2003

I carved this spiral from a piece of Butternut that had a very nice close grain.  It's too bad that the photograph just doesn't capture the near iridescence that this wood achieves when polished. 

Size:   about 12 inches high.

Finish: acrylic sealer and wax
