Viking Vic - 1997

"Vic the Viking" is the title of this piece.  This style of carving (where everything looks "rough cut" or faceted) is not an easy one.  The pattern included reference photos of the original carving by the pattern creator, and his cuts were even coarser.  When I carve in this style, I have to resist the urge to make everything smooth and rounded.
