mikey's essential freeware!! a summary! a recap!

when i re-install, these are the first programs that touch my bare hard drive!!!

and of course... mp3 stuff

lookie here, you can zip files, unzip files, erase files, split files, backup files, look at files, customize windows, backup/restore the registry, and cleanup the appearance of your desktop, with simple to use and easy to understand programs that are freeware! they are small in size, load quickly, task specific, and won't crash your system! come on now!!! why should you have to spend money (sometimes lots of it) on bloatware to do relatively simple tasks on your computer!!! you know, i get completely befuddled when i see commercial programs that do the same things as these freeware programs [and sometimes i get completely befuddled when i stare at my monitor for long periods of time]. anyway, before my mind wanders off somewhere peaceful and idyllic, i hope that these programs prove equally useful to you!

[[[ this last bit i have added 2 years later after what i wrote above.]]] you know, i'm getting pretty crotchety nowadays, and i'm not even that old! you did not ask for it, but i'm going to give it to you anyway... and don't bother thanking me, because i'm tired of having this website suck the life out of me. oh... but you think websites are fun and you want your own website because you have pictures of your pet iguana that you want to share with the world... well save your breath and save your time and save yourself! a personal website will bleed you dry and make your miserable, pitiful existence a living hell, and if you want to see an iguana, read foxtrot. anyway, i've gathered together all programs that i have talked about and put them on one page for downloading. oh, and i used some pretty christmas icons for your viewing pleasure and enjoyment.
