Game Summaries:

May 20, 2004
Numb manages to beat the Souls, but it really didn't seem like a win, as we were behind most of the game until the last inning and just not playing very well. The Souls scored the bulk of their runs in one glorious inning, but could not muster anything else.
Leading the Numb bats were Brad, 3-3 2 runs, 2 rbis, Newest Guy Dave, 2-2, run, rbi, Numbmaster, 2-3, run, rbi, and Rootbeer Haley, 2-4, run, rbi. One hit wonders were Alan, rbi, Jeff Williams, and Dale Roweberry, triple, run, 2 rbis. Needless to say, we were not an offensive juggernaut. Alan made the last out of the game and will bring refreshments to start the summer season, which starts June 24th for some reason.

With the prospect of a wiener roast after the game to send them fighting onward, Numb bats were a-lackin' until the final inning, but they still fell short to Cary Construction 7-8. Fielding errors and a sluggishness in the infield, didn't help our boys this game. And adding to that damage, a couple well tanked Cary long balls, coupled with barely moderate hitting, left our boys high and dry, and waiting for the dogs the burn.
Leading the Numb bats were JWill, bouncing back at 3 for 3, Alan "May-not-B-with-U-in-the-Summer" Titche, 2 for 2, 2BB, Brad "Hey Boy" Haley, 3 for 4, and JT, 2 for 3. Those with the cup half full were "K"raig Rootbeer Haley, 2 for 4, while Stan-the-Mahn Robinson and Dale "Mr. Millie" Roweberry were at 1 for 2. One for 3-ers included Newest New-Guy Dave Hann, Big Art Forma, and Steve Sunken-Eyes Hannaman. Slumpin this week with "0" fers were Eddy the Bulge, and Greg Chaba-de-Hutt. Beer falls to Stan-da-Mahn, even though he did have 3 RBIs. But as you all know, " Hue make-a-de last-a out, hue buy-a da beer".
After the game, the Numbies were treated to a wiener roast sponsored by JT, Hannaman and Craig. Joined by the wives, girls friends, and little Numbsters and Numbettes, the Numb family porked out on, well, ...pork. Young and old alike partook, and enjoyed, the high cholesterol ballpark faire. Next week's game is TBA.

Much like the start of a heart attack, the left side of Numb's infield uncharacteristically developed paralysis, repeatedly losing the handle on the ball, but, due to good hitting and Soul's failed pitching, Numb takes the Souls 21-13. Erratic pitching by the Souls provided 13 walks that allowed Numb to bulk up early on runs. Most interesting moments were Craig Rootbeer Haley's diametrically opposed no-hit performance: 3 walks and a K. Also notable was a Stan-the-Mahn Grand Slam in the 4th. Alan sat, but batted, nursing a painful digit, while no-shows included the Numbmaster a sore rib, and Chaba-da-Hut an early tee-time (not his own).
Leading the hit parade were Newest New-Guy Dave Hann, 2 for 2, 2RBI, 2R, 1BB, Alan "May-not-B-with-U-in-the-Summer" Titche, 2 for 2, 3RBI, 3R, 2BB, and JT, 3 for 4, 4RBI, 1R. Two for 3ers included Brad "Hey Boy" Haley, 2 RBI, 3R, 1BB, Eddy the Bulge, RBI, R, BB, and Big Art Forma, RBI, 2R, a long, long Triple. Those with the cup half full were Stan-the-Grand-Slam-Mahn Robinson, 1 for 2, 4RBI, 3R, 2BB, and Steve Sunken-Eyes Hannaman, 2 for 4, 1RBI, 1R, K. Slumpin this week, Dale went 1 for 4, 1R, K and JWill, 0 for 2, 1R, 2BB. While Craig technically was 0 for 1, his 3 BB's (3R, K) were productive and he turned in 3 runs, but rules are rules....
In the ultimate performance of the Beer Out, Dale K'ed on his, and Numb's, last at bats, so he is charged with bringing the soda to the BBQ next week. Ed and Stan will bring beer.
Noted during the Numb warmup: There is a French website that has picked up on the Numb Website. A bit amusing the translations provided through the web-brouser. Ma Oui!

Numb loses to Mad Skilz in a poor demonstration of hitting . 14 hits to garner 7 runs, most occurring in the 7th inning.
Leading hitters were Dale (2 for 2, 2 R, 1 RBI), Greg Chaba "the hut" (3 BB), the young dirt pushers, Art and Dave at 2 for 3 (one run each), Bradley "the Younger" 2 for 4 (2 RBI, HR, R), and Ed the Bulge 1 for 2 (BB). JT and JWill were at 1 for 3 with Alan (BB, K), Hannaman and Stan as 0 fers.
Not pretty, and Stan, nose back in place, got the beer duties with the last out.

On a strange sort of evening that left a Numbie wounded, Numb stumbles along to lose to Winning Ugly 13-5. Numb started the game well enough against the Uglys, who dropped down a league, where we are certain they didn't do that well. After an exchange of no run innings, Numb let down after Stan the Man Robinson overran a short popup, and ended with what we can only believe is a broken nose. After gushing blood for a bit Stan went to the stands to plug and ice his bulging proboscis. The Ouzo was medicinal. Numb didn't do so well after that. Our boys continued hitting flat only rallying in the Fourth for four of their 5 runs. Ugly produced a few runs most of the following innings after the first with higher production in the 3rd and fourth though long balls and opportunistic and Charlie hustle base running.
Leading hitters were Dale 2-2 , 2 RBI, and Stan, BB, then Art, Hanna and Ed at 2-3. One-fers were Brad and Jeff with a whole slew of "oh"-fers, with Dave, Chaba, JT, Alan, and Kraig, (with a K). Not a pretty outing. While Art hit pretty well, he still managed the last out and will bring the Natty's Ice next week. Oh, and Ed brought the beer for Mike, while Dave brought the Coke....not rootbeer....for the alcohol/caffine free boys (oops).

As the weather cools, Numb bats get hot! Holding a tender 9-3 lead, Numb breaks out the sticks and posts a 10 spot to cruise to a 19-3 victory. 22 hits and solid defense keyed the win.
Numb hitters (this will take a while) were lead by Stan 'the Man' Robinson, a stellar 4-4, 4 runs, 4 rbis, JT, 3-4, 2 runs, 3 rbis, Coach Eddie, 3-4, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Art Forma, 3-4, double, run, Numbmaster, 2-4, triple, 2 runs, rbi, Newest Guy Dave, run, rbi, and Brad Haley, 2-5, 2 runs, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Rootbeer Haley, run, Jeff Williams, triple, 2 runs, and Dale 2 runs.
The Numbmaster killed the rally and made the last out of the game.

April 8, 2004
In a very interesting Spring game, with bloop hits, nubbers, whiffs and mental errors, Numb stays close and Chaba knocks in the winning run in an 8-7 win. The game was pretty offensive, offensively, as both teams struggled to score. Numb had the bases loaded with no outs and did not score.
Leading hitters were Rootbeer Haley, 2-2, run, Numbmaster, 2-2, run, 3 rbis, Brad Haley, 2-3, 2 runs, and Chaba the Hutt, run, rbi. One hit wonders were Art, Coach Eddie, run, rbi, Stan da Man Robinson, double, run, rbi, Newest Guy Dave, run, rbi, and Dale Roweberry. Numb gathered one more hit than last week, but had 4 walks to help the offense.
In the course of the last inning rally, Hanaman, the Ancient One, made an out that turned out to be the last out of the game. So with Hanna's fine brew Numb hopes keep swinging to victory.

Spring Season arrives! Numb, with a record setting 2 practices under its belt, Steps into its first game with confidence and anticipation. Unfortunately, Jo's has more confidence and the ability to hit and field the ball and crushes Numb 13-6. The score was not even that close, as Numb trailed 13-2 before entering the bottom of the 7th.
Leading hitters were Numbmaster, 2-3, triple, run, 2 rbis, Coach Eddie, 2-3, and Jeff Williams 2-3. One hit wonders were JT, home run, run, rbi, Brad the Younger, run, Stan da Man Robinson, run, rbi, Alan Titche, run, rbi, Newest Guy Dave, and Chaba da Hutt, run. Numb totaled only 12 hits, with 12 batters. Sad.
Hanaman, the Ancient One, made the last out of the game. It should be noted that Ed did not bring the beer for the first game in 25 years, which probably demoralized Numb to the point of offensive despair. Hanna will provide incentive next week.
