Game Summaries:

August 12, 2004
Numb loses, 7-3 in a pitching duel. Poor base coaching diffused a late Numb rally, as the bats were limp this night. Jeff 'What me married??' Williams made the last out of the game.

August 5, 2004
Numb Displays Consistency at Bat.
With a 9 run first inning, and some solid defense, Numb held Jo's Heroes scoreless for 3 innings, leading 15-0 at the mid-point. Numb went on to win 22 - 6 on excellent bats and consistent gloves. This reverses a trend with Jo's, where Numb has not put them away for quite some time.
Leading the batting parade was Craig, 4 for 5, 5RBI, K, 2R, sac. Then at 3 for 4, we had Coach Eddy (1RBI, 2R), the Hannaman (1 RBI, 2R), Young Dave (1 RBI, 2R), and Dale (I RBI, 3R). Bradley the Younger went 2 for 3 (3RBI, 3R, sac), followed by JT at 3 for 5 (3 RBI, 2R, DBL), Mitchel at 1 for 2 (1 RBI, 4 R, 2BB), Chaba de Hut at 2 for 4 (2 RBI, 2R) and "No-longer-a-bachelor" JWill at 1 for 4 (1R, sac).
In the spirit and support of "Just Say No", Numb had an alcohol-free post-game party at the field, provided by Dale. Later, nearly everyone reported that we all seemed unusually boring and un-interesting as individuals, and did not look nearly as handsome as we had been after other games...
It appears that Jwill, and his two new toasters, are on the hook for the next beer. Cleverly, however, he is missing the last game of the season, and will have to make "arrangements"....

July 29, 2004
With only 10 limping players, Numb loses to the Lunkers, 12-10. Poor defense lost a 3-0 lead, and a late rally closed a 12-5 deficit to 12-10, but stalled.
Leading hitters were Big Art, 3-4, run, 3 rbis, Numbmaster, 2-3, 3 runs, Stan the Man, 2-3, run, 2 rbis, Alan, 2-4, 2 runs, Hannaman, 2-4, run, and Dale, 2-4, double, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Coach Eddie, rbi and Dave Hunn, 2 rbis.
Dale made the last out of the game, and will bring the root beer!

July 22, 2004
Game 1
Another new team, another Numb loss. Numb falls into a 9-0 hole in the first and does not recover, finally falling by more than 10 runs, 18-7. These kids were good hitters, and Numb bats were strangely silent. Perhaps it was the one opposing player who was sporting eyeblack (in D3??) that intimidated us.
Leading the feeble Numb charge were Hannaman, 2-2, run, rbi, Numbmaster, 2-3, and Newest Guy Dave, 2-3, rbi. One hit wonders were Brad, run, JT, rbi, Big Art, triple, 2 runs, rbi, Chaba, run, and Mike Mille, triple, 3 rbis. Art's new guy, Fred, hence nicknamed Bad Luck Fred, because he smacked the ball, but it always seemed to be caught, made the last out of the game.

Game 2
Reeling from the earlier humiliation, Numb picks up the defense and offense and takes a 5-0 lead. This quickly turns into a 6-5 deficit, but Numb explodes for 8 runs, capped by Chaba's bases clearing double and hangs on for a 13-7 win.
Leading hitters were Alan, 3-4, 3 runs, Numbmaster, 3-4, triple, 2 doubles, 2 runs, 3 rbis, Newest Guy Dave, 3-4, run, rbi, JT, 2-4, run, 3 rbis, Big Art, 2-4, run, and Chaba de Hutt, 2-4, double, run, 3 rbis. One hit wonders were Brad, run, Coach Eddie, run, Hannaman, rbi, and Mike Mille, triple, run, rbi. Bad Luck Fred again made the last out of the game. Under Numb rules, Art, who brought him, will supply the beer next week.

July 15, 2004
Numb plays the Unknown, who, to put it mildly, did not have a good night. They made errors, Numb hits and fields and wins by 3 touchdowns, 21-0. Its hard to tell if we were that good, or they were having a really bad day (been there!).
Leading hitters (this will be long) were Brad, 3-3, home run, 2 runs, 5 rbis, Chaba the Hutt, 3-3, 3 runs, 3 rbis, Mitchell the Sub, 3-3, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Alan, 3-4, rbi, Jeff Married on Saturday Williams, 2-3, 2 runs , 2 rbis, Newest Guy Dave, 2-3, triple, 3 runs, 2 rbis, JT, 2-4, double, 2 runs, and Arty, 2-4, triple, 3 runs, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Mike Mille, rbi, Numbmaster, 2 runs, Coach Eddie, run, and Hannaman, run, rbi.
Hanna made the last out of the game, thus denying Dave a chance on his return. There is always next week. Numb looks to continue its improved play.

July 8, 2004
We played a team new to D3, but not new to tournaments and sandbagging. Worst of all, we were competitive, untill our uninterested defense fizzled again and we fall 18-12, again giving too many outs away.
Hitting was good, with newcomer Mike Mille leading the charge, 3-3, 2 runs, Brad the Younger, 2-3, 2 runs, BB, Jeff Williams, 2-3, double, run, Chaba de Hutt, 2-3, run, Alan, 2-4, 2 runs. One hit wonders, Rootbeer Haley, 2 runs, BB, Numbmaster, rbi, 2BB, JT, run, rbi, and Stan the Man, run, rbi. The Numbmaster made his first out of the Summer, and of course it was the last out of the game...

July 1, 2004
Numb runs into the genetically engineered Winning Ugly, who pound puny Numb, 18-13. I swear, their smallest player (I think they called him 'Runt') was bigger than our largest Numbster, Big Art. Other than size, a few Numb errors were the key, as they were too good to give any extra outs.
Leading the Numb bats were Numbmaster, 3-3, 2 runs, rbi, Coach Eddie, 2-2, r, rbi, Jeff Williams, 3-4, 3 runs, rbi, Big Art Forma, 3-4, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Brad the Younger, 2-3, double, run, rbi, Dale Roweberry, 2 doubles, 3 rbis, and Rootbeer Haley, 2-4, run. One hit wonders were Alan, run, JT, run, and Hanaman, run, 2 rbis. Big Art made the last out of the game.

June 24, 2004
Summer league starts against the Souls, as Spring league ended. The Souls scored two runs in the top of the first and no more, as Numb scores 4 in the first and second and 6 in the last inning to win 14-2. Defense was shaky in the first, but mahvalous later, totally shutting down the Souls.
Leading the Numb bats were Numbmaster, 3-3, 2 runs, rbi, JT, 3-4, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Rootbeer Haley, 2-4, 2 runs, rbi and Coach Eddie, 2-4, run, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Brad the Younger, 3 runs, Stan the Man, triple, run, 3 rbis, Hannaman, rbi, Newest Guy Dave, run, and Dale. Somewhat rusty after the long break, Numb bats must get in the grove for the rest of summer and the upcoming 4th of July tourney. Newest Guy Dave once more, made the last out of the game. Better stock up, young fella!
