Game Summaries:

June 15, 2006
Its getting hot. Numb vs. the Goats. Will we be winners or losers? Game is close all the way. Leads are swapped, Numb erases an early threat with a nifty double playe with the bases loaded. Numb ends rallies with two double plays. Numb is down 10-8 in the bottom of the 6th. Numb bats come through and we lead as time expires. Game over man! Numb wins 11-10.
Leading the batsmen are Stan 'the Man' Robinson, 3-3, triple, 2 runs, 3 rbis, Hannaman, 2-2, 2 runs, Rootbeer Haley, 2-3, run, rbi, Numbmaster, 2-3, double, 2 rbis, Chaba de Limping Hutt, 2-3, run, 2 rbis, Jeff 'Papa Punch' Williams, 2-4, run, rbi, and Troytus 'Mr. Beer', 2-4, run. One hit wonders were Brad the Younger, run, Coach Eddie, rbi, and Dale, 2 runs. Mr. Williams made the last out of the game, just as time expired and will start the Summer with beer, no Stan for 3 weeks and no Numbmaster.

Numb plays Irvine's Team. Beats them. I lost the update. Some players went 4-4, others did not.

June 1, 2006
Numb plays the new guys Teichert Construciton. This game marks the return of Big Art, back from baby rearing, and JT, playing by emergency (only 8 players without him) after knee surgery. Dave was there wearing the always stylish Numb Penalty Shirt (Registered Trademark). So, the game you ask? Well don't! Numb somehow looses all hitting skills, except for Brad the Younger, who managed nearly half of Numbs hits and we bow meekly 9-5.
Leading the weak charge were Brad the Younger (the rest of us bow our heads in shame) 4-4, home run, 2 runs, 2 rbis. The only other player with multiple hits (one was a gift) was Numbmaster, 2-4. One hit wonders were Penalty Shirt Dave, run, Hannaman, Big Art, and wounded JT, double! I seem to be missing 2 runs... 0-fers were, well, you know who you are...
Coach Eddie made the last out of the game and will bring the suds to the TBA game next week... Bats, where are you???

May 25, 2006
Jay is gone, Numb plays the Souls. A recipie for success, or disaster? Numb scores 8 runs in the second, to lead 9-1, cakewalk time, right? Well, mostly. The Souls scrape and use Hannaman's uncharacteristic wildness to stage a comeback, but Numb scores 7 more in the fourth to lead 16-4, and hold on while the Souls score 7 in the top of the 5th which turns out to be the last inning.
Leading hitters were Dale 'Mr. Millie' Roweberry, 3-3, 2 runs, rbi, Hannaman, 3-3, run, 2 rbis, Numbmaster, 3-4, 2 runs, 4 rbis, Stan 'the Man' Robinson, 2-3, 2 runs, Chad the Youngest, 2-3, 2 run, 2 rbis, Rootbeer Haley, 2-4, 2 runs, and Papa Jeff Williams, 2-4, run. One hit wonders were Coach Eddie, run, rbi, Troytus, run, and Chaba de Hutt.
Newest Dave again DID NOT SHOW UP and more importantly DID NOT BRING THE BEER or make arrangements to have the beer delivered!!! Punishment is being discussed. Papa Williams made the last out of the game, but may get a pass...

May 18, 2006
Its Jay's 50th Birthday!!! Numb, inspired as only Numb can be, gamely loses one for the Limper, 9-8. Story of the night was only one run scored in the last 4 innings, a recipie for a loss. Sorry Jay!
Defense had its lapses, too, providing enough margin for the loss. Leading the 'charge' Brad the Younger, 3-4, 2 runs, rbi, Numbmaster, 3-4, run, 2 rbis, and Troytus, 2-3, 2 rbis. The rest were one hit wonders and 0-fers. One hit wonders were Coach Eddie, run, Newest Dave (soon to be re-nicknamed Beerman), run, rbi, Hannaman, Dale, Stan the Man, run, rbi, and Papa Williams. Note the lack of runs and rbis...
Newest Dave again made the last out of the game, stranding the tying run at third, but hey, it happens...

May 11, 2006
Another bizarre game, although in the opposite direction. Numb plays a team thats, well, not very good and all of a sudden starts smacking the ball around, 22 hits, 21 runs, and runs away 21-8.
Defense...forget about it! Leading the charge were Young Chad, 3-4, 2 runs, rbi, Brad the Younger, 3-5, double, 2 runs, rbi, Rootbeer Haley, 3-5, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Coach Eddie, 3-5, 2 runs, 4 rbis, Chaba De Hutt, 2-4, home run, 3 runs, rbi, Dale Roweberry, 2-4, run, rbi, Numbmaster, 2-5, double, 2 runs, rbi, and Newest Dave, 2-5, triple. One hit wonders were Troytus, 3 runs, rbi and Hannaman, 2 runs.
Newest Dave made the last out of the game, if I remember correctly...

May 4, 2006
Kind of hard to comment on this game, as it was, well bizzare. Well, more bizarre than usual. The game was a contest of not hitting, as there was a 4-4 tie going into the top of the 7th inning. The Icemen then thawed out, started smacking the ball and scored 10 runs to, well, 10-run rule us.
Leading the deflated charge were Brad the Younger, 2-3, run, Coach Eddie, 2-3, 2 runs, 2 rbis, and Big Art, 2-3. One hit wonders were Craig 'Rootbeer' Haley, run, Numbmaster, Newest Dave, and Dale Roweberry.
Chaba made the last out of the game, before we were 10 runned...

April 27, 2006
Numb vs. hard hitting, fast, newly loaded Cary Johnson Construction. The game started as we might expect, with CJ hitting the snot out of the ball and scoring runs. Numb shows some signs of life, and although we left many runners in scoring position and didn't play very good defense, we had an 8-8 tie with CJ batting in the bottom of the 6th. CJ managed 3 runs and Numb weakly did not score in the 7th to lose. Art provided the spark and the heartache in the 7th as he doubled with one out, but ended the game by trying to advance on a groundout.
Leading hitters were the red-hot Chaba de Hutt, 3-3, 2 runs, 3 rbis, Brad the Younger, 3-4, rbi, Chad the Youngest, 3-4, and Hannaman 'the Ancient One', 2-3, 2 runs, rbi. Big Papa Pump Williams, 2 rbis, and Big Art, double, run, rbi were 2-4. One hit wonders were Craig 'Rootbeer' Haley, Numbmaster, run, Newest Dave, run, rbi, and Troytus, double, run, rbi.
As mentioned above, Art once again was the last out of the game and will do the honors...

April 20, 2006
After two rainouts in a row, Numb gets to play the first game of the season in the third week of the season. Ah, Sping! A time of renewal, hope, promise, new life, and really interesting softball. We have a tradition of not practicing and it shows. Numerous errors by both teams lead to an ugly 16-14 win by Numb. The last play of the game turned into the signature play of the game, as Numb, up 16-10 in the start of the last inning, was looking at a shrinking 16-14 lead with two outs and the bases loaded with Goats. The Goats batter hits a drive up the middle, that smacks Hannaman's chin (thats chin, not shin, which Rootbeer Haley had already had smacked), is scooped up by Haley, who flips to Papa Williams to end the game.
Leading hitter were the returned Chaba de Hutt, 4-4, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Coach Eddie, who ran the bases so much he was pooped, 4-5, run, 2 rbis, and Brad the Younger, 3-5, double, triple, 2 runs, rbi. A host of 2-4s were Papa Williams, 2 runs, rbi, Numbmaster, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Troytus, run, rbi and Chad the Youngest (yes ANOTHER Haley, Craig's youngest son), run, rbi. One hit wonders were Craig 'Rootbeer' or 'Father of the outfield' Haley, 2 runs, and Big Art, 2 runs.
Art was also the last out of the game and will do the honors...
