August 9, 2007
Numb is a bit short of players and gets the Millinator, Dale's wife and the Laurenator, Jay's stepdaughter to fill in. Numb goes down 7-0 in the first and although we got 14 hits, we fall 9-5 that was not as close as the score indicates. It wasn't a matter of bad defense, just no timely hits, or a very low 'Critical Hitting Percentage'.
Leading hitters were Hugo, 3-3, rbi, Brad the Younger, 3-4, 2 runs, Troytus, 2-3, 2 runs, Big Art, 2-3, Coach Eddie, 2-4, rbi, and Numbmaster, 1-2, 2 rbis. the other one hit wonder was Lauren. Hannaman made the last out of the summer. So, two weeks off to heal and forget how to hit then Fall!

August 9, 2007
Numb again faces the Putah Creek Lunkers. Numb does not hit, does not win.
Leading hitters were Numbmaster, 3-4, 2 runs, Papa Williams, 2-4, and Newest Dave, 2-4, triple, run, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Brad the Younger, Hannaman, Big Art, double, 2 rbis, Coach Eddie, and Dale. My guess is Ed made the last out of the game. The summer rubber match is next week.

August 2, 2007
Numb faces the Goats, who Numb beat by one last meeting. The game is close, but Numb is down 8-7 as the Goats bat in the top of the 7th. A lead off homer makes the game 9-7 Goats, but they do not score again. In the Numb half, Numb closes the gap to 9-8 with no outs. A tag at home leaves runners on first and second with one out. Rootbeer gets a hit to tie the game, and Papa 'RBI' Williams knocks in the game winner!!
Leading hitters were the resurgent Papa Williams, 3-3, double, 2 runs, 2 rbis, game winning rbi, steady Coach Eddie, 3-3, 2 runs, Numbmaster, 2-3, 2 rbis, Dale, 2-3, rbi, and Brad the Younger, 2-4, 2 runs. One hit wonders were Rootbeer Haley, Stan the Man, run, 2 rbis, Hugo, rbi, Newest Dave Hunn, double, run, Troytus, rbi, Hannaman, and Big Art, run. We hit when we had to! Dale made the last out of the game.

Numb once again faces Still Ballin, who are still well, ballin. Although Numb starts out with a 7-1 lead, Ballin tallies 11 in the third and Numb bats go silent as we fall 13-10. Leading hitters were Rootbeer Haley, 3-4, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Dale, 2-3, 2 runs, rbi, Brad the Younger, 2-4, 2 runs, rbi, and Numbmaster, 2-4, 2 rbis. One hit wonders were Papa Williams, rbi, Dave Hunn, run, Troytus, run, Big Art, rbi, Coach Eddie, 2 runs, and Stan the Man, run, rbi. Hugo made the last out of the game.

Numb plays Mad Skillz, who seemed to have somewhat mad skillz. Numb forges a 4-0 lead after two, but the bats go silent and our opponests awake and defeat Numb 11-4. Leading hitter (notice its not 'hiiters') was Brad, 3-4, run. One hit wonders were Papa Williams, Dave Hunn, run, rbi, Troytus, double, 2 rbis, Coach Eddie, and Hannaman. Those of you keeping score of home might note the lack of hits. We did too. The Numbmaster made the last out of the game.

July 12, 2007
Numb faces the G Street Pub. Seemingly exhausted from last weeks run-fest, Numb wastes a bases loaded, one out first and fails to score a run through 4 innings. Remarkably, the Pubbers need two Numb errors to score only 2 runs and lead 2-0 after 4. Numb manages 2 in the 5th to tie 2-2. Numb bats in the top of the 7th tied 2-2 and 'busts out' for 3 runs. Newest Dave makes a diving catch that all but one person thought was a catch, that being the infield umpire who rules it a trap. The Pubbers mamage to get one run across, but runs out of steam and Numb wins 5-3.

One hit wonders were Papa Williams, rbi, Newest Dave, and Troytus. Dave made the last out of the game. So Numb is 2-1 in games where we score 5 runs. This can't possibly last!! The third game in the upper league finds Numb facing the Putah Creek Lunkers, a team Numb has faced in the past, when we were younger and better. Numb quickly falls behind 6-2, but finds its long lost offense and takes a 14-6 lead and hangs on for a 14-8 win!
Leading hitters were Brad the Younger, breaking out at 3-4, double, 3 runs and 2 rbis, Stan the Man Robinson, 2-3, 2 runs, 2 rbis, Papa Williams, 2-3, run, 3 rbis, Hugo, 2-3, 3 rbis, Troytus, 2-3, and the less gimpy JT, 2-3, rbi. One hit wonders were Coach Eddie, rbi, and Hannaman, double. The Numbmaster played a completely crappy all-around game and fittingly made the last out. Next up, the G Street Pub. Numb elders remember when the only liquor was way off campus...

June 28, 2007
Numb faces the Goats in the second game of the summer. Having scored only 5 runs the previous week, Numb is looking to bust out. Numb again has trouble scoring and falls behind 2-0. Scraping for runs, Numb scores in the late innings to go up 4-3 entering the 7th. The Goats rally and get two across and with a runner steaming home, Newest Dave fires a laser from left center and Troytus applies the tag to end the inning. Numb, down 4-3 bats in the last half of the 7th, loads the bases with no outs. A hit scores the tying run and Brad smacks a sac fly to score the winning run!
Leading hitters were Numbmaster, 2-3, Dale, 2-3, double, and JT, 2-3, rbi. One hit wonders were Papa Williams, 2 runs, Hugo, rbi, Big Art, Dave Hunn, double, rbi, and Coach Eddie, rbi. Although Brad made the last out of the game, Troytus, who made the previous out volunteered to provide refreshment since Brad's out knocked in the winning run.

Numb plays the first game in the newly created D2C, higher than Numb ususally plays. Lack of Numb hitting and a couple of errors down Numb in a close 6-5 loss.
