Numb Golf 1996

The Numb Golf Tournament was held Saturday October 19 at Davis Municipal Golf Course. A total of 10 current and ex-Numbsters showed up to watch golf balls fly in the water, the sun set, and Ed drive like a maniac.
Mike Ritchie and Ed proved that they should bat with a golf club from now on by stroking a 68. Jay "dead eye...literally" Tyburczy actually bagged a 25ft birdie putt, yet managed to miss throwing Mike Ritchie's golf ball into a lake MUCH bigger than that little hole. Steve Hanna suprised everyone by showing up, and by resembling an actual golfer, at least in his choice of footware.
Mark 'the Quiv' Hirzy came out of retirement to try his hand, and really could have used some floating golf balls. Even the newest Numbster, Mike 'the Franchise' Watari showed up and actually looked like a golfer.
Mike "this sport sucks" Silva ended his 5 year hiatus from golf and actually hit an iron that didn't skim the ground. It did, however, go to the opposite field, as do most of his hits. Mike and Jay also combined for a potential nut buster, when Mike's practice drive hit a railroad tie and hit Jay in the stomach! I am not making this up! Troy didn't show up, so a good time was had by all.
As additional verification that we're getting old, we left Davis Muni more intact than in previous years. Check out the following pictures.
