Last game of the year...
We beat Woodland Family Worship 22-4. They started with 8 players, grew to 9 over the course of the game,...but it didn't really help. Their leadoff four hit formidably, banking 2 runs right off-the-bat, only to be deafened by the 'swoosh' of the miff and whiff following on in the order. Numb crushed the ball, and grew less and less aggressive running the bases, as it just didn't seem that fair. Another bust by Worship in the second pass through of their batting order, gave them their total, but Numb was on "run-o-matic" at that point.
Not sure who made the last out, but the NUMB Penalty Shirt was awarded to Craig, for knowingly not bringing the BBQ for post-game doggies. His excuse: "I loaned it out and it came back broken, so I didn't bring it". Cold doggies lay in our path, but JT ran home, leaving Steve to pitch the last inning, and dug out his BBQ, which fortunately had a sufficient supply of fuel. The doggies were done timely, and the Umps and Scorekeeper were fed. A fun conclusion to a great year.

The game rained out on October 15th was played this day. Numb hit many balls far, taking full advantage of the 8 Those Guys that showed up and cruise to a 23-10 win.

Numb loses to Jos Heroes. We do not hit, score runs. Jos wins with a 12 run inning.

Numb makes it to October before losing. It was bound to happen.
The Daddies hit well on a couple of innings, and we were dancing with a 12 -2 deficit (the other guys wanted the Umps to call the game for the 10 run-rule: unfortunately for them the 50 minutes hadn't expired). We mounted a comeback in the last inning; sadly we only picked up 4-5 runs, and didnt get a second chance (not that we didn't have 6 innings previous to make good, but...)
Our big hitters all went long...("Out") and not gapperinos. It was a little weird.

In a weird game where Millie saved the day by bringing her gear and the team up to 10 players, because Mike didn't show up, Numb found some rocket launchers in it's bats for a blasting of the Souls. (I am avoiding using the term "hapless" here.)
Numb bats came out strongly with loads of runs in the first, a fair number in the second and more in the third inning. It looked like a classic blow out, assisted by the lack of a fence at Community Field, until ...the Souls blasted a base clearing grand slam in the fourth. But, not to be outdone, Numb bats continued with the shelling, and the final score was 23-7 Numb.
Matt pretty much just homered. He did have a double. Shaw hit a couple less homers than Matt. Jeff and the Boy only had a homers or two each. Art only got one homer. Jay only tripled twice.
