Numb are Comfortably Numb.... A group of gimps, drunkards, perverts, and reprobates that have gotten together weekly to play softball in Davis, California since the dawn of man (or so it seems). Various members of Numb have been playing softball together since the early 17th century.....living proof that Ouzo will make a man immortal! Someone's going to have to tell me when this picture was taken...but my guess would be in the "Early Hawaiian" period, just following the Mesozoic.

Here is a more recent picture of Numb, taken after we clinched the championship of the Spring 1995 season!! Notice the similarities between this and the previous picture.... um......well....some of the people are the same, but I guess that's about it.

As a service those unfortunate souls who are interested in becoming numb, we feel an obligation to publish our "Numbmandments", which lay out the code of ethics (yeah, right) for all Numb members. Turn the pages of our giant Numb reference book below for this never before seen information...

Numb Volume

We have many claims to fame... We have more knee braces than any other softball team in Northern California!! We can amazingly score more than 30 runs in one game, and 3 in the next!! We can look like the Yankees in the field, or we can look like the Davis Elementary School "B" team in the field....without warning!! We can leap tall curbs in a single bound!!

Ancestors of Comfortably Numb... we'll call them "Numbcestors"... actually invented the game of softball many, many years ago. Historians say that back when the Scots were discovering the game of GOLF, our Numbcestors were discovering that the damned ball was MUCH too small to see when you've been drinking ale all day!! By the way...just in case you were wondering... there WAS Ouzo back then...but the Numbcestors used it to fuel their lamps, take resin off of non-porous surface, and kill rats. They didn't discover that they could drink it until one night when they got REALLY drunk on ale....but that's another story.....

The Numbcestors are also credited with creating the first knee brace. In fact, I think Ed is still wearing the damned thing!

Current Numb members respect the history laid (yep, he said laid) forth by our Numbcestors, yet we are beginning our own traditions. One of them is the Numb Christmas Party, where we participate in the singing of the "numb song". Go to the EVENTS page to check out some pics from previous Numb parties.
