Genus Triglochin Arrowgrass Family (Juncaginaceae)
Arrowgrass
(Triglochin maritima)
This plant (not a true grass) grows in marshy places
and moist meadows along with cattails and reeds.
The green plant can be very poisonous to livestock because it
contains hydrocyanic acid. However the dried or roasted seeds are
used by many animals (and have also been used by humans) as a food
source.
