This plant is also known as Western Blue Flag. In Utah, it grows in
the northeastern part of the state -- east of the Wasatch and Uinta
mountains. This photo was taken in Wyoming, but I have seen the
same kind of plant growing in Daggett County, Utah, in moist meadows
near Flaming Gorge Dam.
They are usually about two feet tall. The ones I have seen have
all been a light lavender blue in color, as shown in the photo,
but some might have a darker color.
