Mountain Dandelion

Mountain Dandelion
(Agoseris glauca)

A native plant that grows on the foothills and in the mountains. The tall (12 to 18 inches) leafless flower stalks rise from a clump of basal leaves.

It is also known as "False Dandelion" to distinguish it from the common dandelion that grows on our lawns, which is an introduced weed.

Both are yellow composites, with only ray flowers.
