Genus Rubus
Rose Family (Rosaceae)

Thimbleberry
(Rubus parviflorus)

These shrubs grow at quite high altitudes. They can be found in patches, in open woods above 8,000 feet. The leaves are very large -- about 6 inches across.

The flowers look like white wild roses. The branches have no thorns. When the fruits mature they look somewhat similar to small red raspberries.
