In researching the House's of Lincoln County, I believe that Owen House as a widower with his son Joseph and wife, Nancy (surname unknown), their son Thompson and possibly other children migrated to Lincoln County, Missouri prior to 1830. I found one clue that indicates that the House's were probably from North Carolina.

The only documents I found which indicates Owen House and his relationship to his son, Joseph House, were in court records where Joseph House appeared to the Lincoln County Courthouse requesting guardianship of, Owen House, in June 1830. Joseph House claimed that his father, Owen House, was of unsound mind and incapable of managing his affairs.

In February 1831, "Owen House appears in court and petitions the court to be discharged from his guardian, Joseph House, and on proof to the satisfaction of the court it appears that he is restored to his right mind...."

The court granted his request for discharge of Joseph House's guardianship as shown in the May 1832 court record.
