Creating a new file folder in Windowsâ

1) Open Windowsâ Explorer. The icon might look like one of these:
or right click on the Start button and choose Explore from the menu.

2)  Locate the Program Files folder on your C drive and click on the "+" sign in the lefthand window. 3)  Then click on the folder with the name FTW for the Windowsâ version or FTM for the DOS version. and then click on the File menu at the top.

4) Now click on New and select Folder. 5) Finally, type in the new folder name (I suggest something like Gedcom) and press the "Enter" key.

You have now created a new folder to save your GEDCOM files in.

You can follow similar steps to create a new folder using the MY Computer icon.
