PRESS RELEASE Sunday, August 15, 2004 On Sunday August 15th, Galt City Council Member Tom Malson graduated from the Great Valley Leadership Institute.
The Great Valley Leadership Institute provides support to enable participants to better address issues of leadership and to acquire a new frame of reference and improved tools to deal with complex and broad issues. This Institute is an intensive, 4 ½-day experience that provides elected officials with key insights to help make the most of their elected positions and reach their full leader potential. GVLI provides an unmatched opportunity to access world-renowned faculty from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. This is a rare chance to have West Coast, direct access to distinguished faculty in a small-group atmosphere. The Great Valley Leadership Institute is designed for eleted officials who have served for at least one year in local government in the Central Valley: mayors, city council members and county supervisors. Each class includes 30 participants from the Great valley in cities from Bakersfield to Redding. Participants must be nominated and are chosen based on a record of leadership and potential for future contribution.
