Council chooses land use option - Del Webb senior housing project area remains in general plan update.  In a 3-2 vote taken just as it approached midnight, council members approved a single option for the future boundaries of Galt that the city will forward through the general plan update as the official project area.  Galt Mayor Darryl Clare was the swing vote in last night's 2-2 standoff between Vice Mayor Randy Shelton and Councilman Barbara Payne, and Councilmen Tim Raboy and Tom Malson.  Malson and Raboy either wanted the land to the northwest of the sewer plant removed from further consideration all together, or studied as a separate option through the EIR process.
