Linda Yungling McCready
After graduating from ARC in 1967, I attended CSUS, completing a BA in Anthropology and English, and two years of graduate school in Anthropology and Education. Although I have a "Life" teaching credential, I have never taught in a regular school. In 1973 I was hired by the Office of the Secretary of State, and then promoted to the Department of Health Services. After four years there, I promoted again to the Medical Board of California. I worked for MBC for 21 years, most of that time as manager of the Division of Allied Health Professions. In January 2000, I retired, and now spend most of my time making things. My big hobby is building furniture, but I also read, paint, write, sew, travel, and generally keep busy. In 1988 my biography of my great grandparents was published under the title "Most Gentle Wilderness - Pioneering on the Southern California Coast." I dedicated it to Mrs. Eada Silverthorne, who was far and above any other teacher I have ever known. It was not a big seller. I also wrote a history of the Medical Board of California while I worked there. |
