This wonderful invention of
photography should never be
taken for granted.
Our years at school need a few
moments frozen in time to compensate for the blurred memories.

Dear Martha

So much went on behind closed doors.
Few of us knew about Martha Swanson's talents, even those of us who found ourselves in Journalism or English. Thank you, Miss Swanson for encouraging the worst of us.

The real start of "Flower Power"
in the sixties began at Taylor's Shoe Store.

Flower Power Shoe Store

Seniors acting like Freshmen.
What was it about hazing those poor
Freshmen that we loved?
Power? Prestige? Peer Praise?
Or was it just a chance to
vicariously torment your little
brothers and sisters?

The Good, Bad and Brave

Undoubtedly the best photo
taken in the 60's, this unintentional
double-exposure captured a side
of growing up that too few of us
experienced . . . raw and undistorted
physical pain and emotional defeat.

Hat's off to the Walters who
knew what people wanted:
GREAT GREASY GRUB!
Nothing compared to that hamburger
made with tons of mayo
and those piping hot fries.
Remember running from the city plunge
across the street, hair dripping, eyes and bare feet burning, with just enough change to pick up a bag of greasy fries and a Coke before your ride arrived?
Agony and ecstasy at the ripe young age of 11.
