Soybeans up but most grains down

CHICAGO, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Most major grain markets except soybeans registered losses for the day on the Chicago Board of Trade Monday.

The day started out strongly before moderating considerably toward the end of the session. Crude oil, which barely managed to stay above $115 a barrel, seemed to have little effect.

Corn for December delivery closed down 6 1/2 at 6.00 with some benefit from expected rainfall in the corn belt.

Soybeans were up 20 at 13.47 in November futures. Wheat futures were off 25 at 8.64 3/4 and oats were down 2 at 3.82.

Corn: Sep 5.80 1/4, off 6 1/4; Dec 6, off 6 1/2, Mar 6.19 , off 6 ; May 6.32, off 5 .

Soybeans: Sep 13.39 , up 18 ; Nov 13.47, up 20; Jan 13.64 1/2, up 20, Mar 13.77, up 18 .

Wheat: 8.40 1/4, off 25 1/4; Dec 8.64 3/4, off 25 , Mar 8.89, off 26; May 9.04, off 25 1/4.

Oats: Sep 3.64, off 1; Dec 3.82, off 2; Mar 4, off 2; May 4.11, off 2.
