Trade light before Labor Day break

CHICAGO, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Volume was reported relatively light Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade in advance of the long Labor Day weekend,

The corn market wound down the month by opening lower and rallying into early mid session as prices fell during late morning and into earl.y afternoon.

The soybean market chopped in a narrow and mostly higher range Friday before finishing near Thursday's closing levels.

The wheat market opened lower and rallied briefly early in the session to slightly higher on the day.

Traders said that this early support came from higher corn and soybean markets which were thought to be supported by a higher crude oil market .

The International Grains Council raised its estimate of world wheat production by 10 million tons to a record 672 million tons.
