Carl Edwards wins Emerson Radio 250
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Carl Edwards crossed the
finish line ahead of Scott Wimmer Sunday to capture the Nationwide
Emerson Radio 250 auto race at Richmond, Va.
Edwards, driving the No. 60 Roush Fenway Racing Ford,
grabbed the lead from Clint Bowyer with 28 laps left after Bowyer
led for 195 laps.
Bowyer finished third, followed by Denny Hamlin and David
Ragan.
Edwards was one of nine Sprint Cup drivers in the race, and
one of four in the top five spots at the finish.
Because of the threat of tropical storm Hanna, The Sprint
Cup's Chevy Rock & Roll 400 was run earlier, with Jimmie Johnson
finishing first.
With seven races left in the Nationwide season, Bowyer leads
the standings with 4,088 points. Edwards is second with 3,881 points
and, with 3,809 points, Brad Keselowski is third.
The next Nationwide race is the Camping World 200 Sept. 20
at Dover, Del.
