SEATTLE, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu's three hits and three RBI Saturday led the New York Yankees to a 7-4 win over Seattle.

Abreu hit a first inning solo homer and a two-run triple in New York's five-run seventh.

Jason Giambi had three hits, one a sixth-inning solo homer, and two RBI. Hideki Matsui had three hits and one RBI and Xavier Nady added one RBI for the Yankees, who stopped a two-game skid.

The winning pitcher was starter Sydney Ponson (8-5).

Closer Mariano Rivera earned his 33rd save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Raul Ibanez hit a three-run sixth-inning homer and an eighth-inning RBI single to knock in all four Seattle runs. Jeremy Reed had three hits and Adrian Beltre two for the Mariners, losers in six of 10.

The losing pitcher was reliever Sean Green (4-5).
