Clovis News Journal (Clovis, N.M.)
Aug. 27--The father of an escaped killer has been arrested
for obstruction of justice, District Attorney Matt Chandler said at
an afternoon press conference.
Isidro Salas, who lives in Albuquerque, was arrested on
Wednesday. He is the father of Edward Salas, who was among eight
inmates who escaped Sunday night from Curry County Adult Detention
Center.
Edward Salas has been convicted and sentenced to life in
prison for his role in the 2005 shooting death of a 10-year-old
Clovis boy.
He remained at large on Wednesday, along with four other
escapees.
Chandler said Clovis law officers have also arrested Asha
Currie on charges of obstruction of justice. Currie is the mother of
Michael England's child. England also remains at large following the
Sunday night jailbreak.
