NFL: New Orleans 24, Tampa Bay 20
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A 42-yard TD pass from Drew
Brees to Reggie Bush put New Orleans ahead in the fourth quarter and
the Saints held on Sunday for a 24-20 win over Tampa Bay.
Brees completed 23 passes for 343 yards and three
touchdowns, with one interception. The pass to Bush, with 7:38 to
play, turned out to be the game-winner.
Bush finished with 163 yards ---112 receiving and 51 on the
ground.
Jeremy Shockey caught six passes for 54 yards in his first
game with the Saints (1-0), who acquired him in a trade with the New
York Giants.
The Buccaneers' Jeff Garcia was 24-of-41 for 221 yards and a
touchdown. Garcia was intercepted once.
Ernest Graham carried 10 times for 91 yards for Tampa Bay
(0-1).
