HARARE, Zimbabwe, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Aides to South African President Thabo Mbeki say he will try again this week to bridge differences between opposition parties in Zimbabwe.

Mbeki is due in Harare Thursday for yet another round of power-sharing talks between the Movement for Democratic Change and President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF, the Voice of America reported Tuesday.

Talks last weekend stalled over the question of how executive powers should be shared between Mugabe and MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai, the VOA reported.

Tzvangirai, who out-polled Mugabe in the first round of elections in late March but sat out the runoffs because of violence against his supporters, has said he wants the United Nations and the African Union to intervene with arbitration talks.
