Bedingfield engaged to businessman beau

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- British pop singer Natasha Bedingfield is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, California businessman Matt Robinson, a source told Usmagazine.com.

The recording artist is best known for her songs "Unwritten" and "Pocketful of Sunshine."

She announced to guests at a surprise performance at a New York City nightclub Sunday night that she had accepted Robinson's marriage proposal earlier in the day.

"What should I say about him? I'm in love ... He's a businessman and it really is a good balance for my career because he's always a solid rock that I just feel very comfortable with, and I feel very loved," the singer told Us Weekly in May. "I was single for a long, long time and I kind of went down kicking and screaming because I liked my singleness, but he was someone definitely worth giving up being single for."
