Gallup Poll: McCain moves ahead of Obama
PRINCETON, N.J., Sept. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. Republican
presidential nominee John McCain has moved ahead of Democratic rival
Barack Obama by 48 percent to 45 percent, a Gallup Poll indicated.
The poll, released Sunday, is based on interviews conducted
Thursday through Saturday, Gallup said.
The poll indicates McCain earned a bounce following the
Republican National Convention, much as Obama did after the
Democratic convention the week before. However, Gallup said McCain's
bounce happened more quickly.
The results are based on a telephone sampling of 2,765
registered voters. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 2
percentage points.
