We’re excited to announce that we’re integrating Telrad Networks technology, a global provider of TD-LTE broadband solutions, for expanding our wireless Internet network throughout Sacramento and San Joaquin counties. This new tech will be instrumental in giving our customers access to internet speeds that support high-bandwidth online applications, including gaming and streaming media services. Softcom provides internet service Elk Grove to Stockton, and Walnut Grove to Lake Comanche, and beyond.

We currently have 27 communication towers in operation throughout our coverage area, that includes Acampo, Clements, Courtland, East Stockton, Elk Grove, Galt, Herald, Isleton, Lake Comanche, Lockeford, Lodi, Stockton, Thornton, Victor, Walnut Grove and Wilton. With advanced NLOS features, increased capacity and a great reputation, Telrad was a clear choice for us. Their comprehensive LTE solution is designed specifically for fixed wireless internet access providers like us and helps us deliver fast, reliable and low cost Internet services, especially to those residing in rural areas that have been underserved or entirely neglected by other carriers.

As technologies emerge and progress, we’re committed to updating and adapting our network in order to meet our customer’s demands for higher speeds and better connectivity. This upgrade using Telrad Networks technology enables better non-line-of-sight (NLOS) connectivity, overcoming areas with dense tree foliage, as well as significantly increasing capacity for our customers.

This 4G-LTE service can provide our customers with download and upload speeds up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps). Yes, that’s pretty fast. That’s why we love 4G LTE. You’ve probably heard the term before, but we thought you might like to know a little more about why 4G LTE is so great: The term 4G LTE is a combination of two terms – 4G means fourth generation of data technology, and LTE means Long Term Evolution. Together this means that you’re getting the most advanced wireless data technology available, plus a commitment to continually improve (hence the “long term evolution”).

Bottom line? It’s the fastest wireless iInternet service you can get – and it’s going to keep getting faster. This is great news especially when it comes to our residential customers who enjoy online digital services such as video streaming, social media, gaming, and music.
