Softcom team members will be attending a variety of fun and festive events in our community this summer and we hope you’ll meet us there. Representatives will be staffing booths and meeting with community members in person to share information about our company, our services, and the exciting improvements in high-speed internet access for people who live and work in remote communities. We invite friends, customers and anyone interested in what we do to swing by our booth, ask any questions you might have, and find out more about how we can make home, school, work and play so much easier.
June 30: Independence Day Parade
Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. but it’s popular so be sure to come early and get your spot to see the sights and enjoy. Last year’s parade marked the return of the popular military vehicle caravan featuring retired military vehicles and the possibility of a helicopter joining as well. The day also includes the 6th Annual Officer Tonn Memorial 5K Run/Walk, a Fireworks Celebration, Fireworks in the Pool, Horseshoe Tournament, Live Bands, a Kids Zone, and much more. July 29: Courtland Pear Fair
The Pear Fair is a celebration of the annual Bartlett pear harvest in the picturesque, Sacramento River Delta region of California. Nestled along the Sacramento River, the town of Courtland is located 20 miles south of Sacramento on scenic Highway 160. Organized and run by a committee of local volunteers, it has become a long-standing summer tradition in the Delta that reflects the character and lifestyle of rural life, family fun, and is a wonderful day of entertainment, festivities, food and drink shared by all who attend each year.
The Pear Fair is a non-profit organization that provides educational scholarships and helps support the Delta community. Admission is free, but there is a $10 parking fee for vehicles. Various tickets for rides, food items and craft items will be for sale that support the local and regional economy.
August 11 – 12: Galt Balloon Festival
We’re excited to be one of the sponsors for this exciting event – the Galt Chamber of Commerce 1st Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. Held at the McFarland Living History Ranch, the Balloon Festival will feature arts & crafts, food vendors, commercial booths, public information booths, tethered rides, and of course, Hot Air Balloons. Balloons will take flight at sunrise so you’ll want to be there early.
